Legal & Privacy

Everything here applies to the VirtuaBinder desktop application and to this website.

Trademarks

Pokémon and all related names, characters, card images and logos are trademarks of Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Creatures Inc. and GAME FREAK inc.

VirtuaBinder is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or approved by any of those companies. Their marks are used descriptively and only to identify the cards in your own collection — VirtuaBinder does not reproduce or redistribute card artwork of its own accord.

Valuations are estimates, not advice

Card values shown by the application are estimates drawn from third-party market data. They are not an appraisal, and they are not financial, tax or insurance advice.

Market data can be stale, incomplete or simply wrong, particularly for vintage cards, graded slabs and Japanese printings where coverage is thin. Do not rely on any figure VirtuaBinder shows for an insurance claim, a sale, a purchase or any other financial decision.

Privacy

VirtuaBinder has no account system, no telemetry and no analytics. It does not track you, and nothing about your collection is transmitted anywhere.

What stays on your computer

Your collection file, your preferences and the card-image cache are stored on your own disk and never leave it. If the application crashes it writes a diagnostic report locally; that report is never uploaded, and it is yours to delete or to send us deliberately.

What the application requests from the internet

To show card data and current prices, VirtuaBinder requests information from these services. These requests carry no identifier of you or of your collection — only the cards and expansions being looked up:

  • TCGdex (api.tcgdex.net, assets.tcgdex.net) — card data and card images.
  • TCGCSV (tcgcsv.com) — market price data.
  • frankfurter.dev (api.frankfurter.dev) — currency exchange rates.

Those services receive your IP address, as any website you visit does. Their own privacy practices are their own; we have no agreement with them and pass them nothing about you.

VirtuaBinder can also open Cardmarket and Pokémon Price Tracker in your browser to look up a card. Those open only when you ask for them, and behave like any other link you click.

This website

This site is static. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and embeds no third-party trackers. Our host records standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention.

Open-source licences

VirtuaBinder is built with Qt 6, used under the GNU Lesser General Public License version 3. Qt is shipped as unmodified dynamic libraries, so you may replace them with your own build.

The corresponding Qt source code is available here: Qt source archive.

The full licence text and third-party attributions are also installed alongside the application, in its legal/ folder.

No warranty

VirtuaBinder is free to use and provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. You use it, and rely on the figures it shows, at your own risk.
